Refrigerated trucking with Gelle Transport
Refrigerated (reefer) trucking protects products that would spoil or degrade outside a set temperature range — fresh and frozen food, beverages, dairy, produce, flowers, some chemicals and other sensitive goods. A reefer trailer’s refrigeration unit holds the set point throughout the trip, whether the product needs to stay frozen, chilled or simply protected from heat or freezing.
Temperature settings and modes
Frozen freight typically runs at or below 0°F, chilled freight between about 33°F and 40°F, and many products need a specific range on the bill of lading. Units can run continuously or in cycle (start-stop) mode; sensitive products such as produce usually need continuous airflow. We confirm set points and mode before pickup.

Food safety and handling
Refrigerated food loads must meet sanitary transportation requirements: clean trailers, pre-cooled equipment, correct set points and accurate records. Shippers should load product at the correct temperature — a reefer maintains temperature, it is not designed to bring warm product down.
